Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) S: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his visit to Washim, Maharashtra, announced the release of the 18th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) Yojana today. This installment provides direct financial support to over 9.4 crore farmers across the country, amounting to more than ₹20,000 crore, through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). This ensures transparency and eliminates the need for intermediaries in the disbursement process.

Cumulative Disbursement Reaches ₹3.45 Lakh Crore

With the release of this 18th installment, the total funds disbursed under the PM-KISAN scheme now exceed ₹3.45 lakh crore, benefiting over 11 crore farmers nationwide. The scheme continues to play a pivotal role in supporting India’s agricultural community and enhancing rural development. Earlier, the 17th installment, released in June 2024, provided financial assistance to over 9.3 crore farmers, distributing around ₹20,000 crore.

About PM-KISAN Scheme

Launched in 2019, the PM-KISAN Yojana aims to provide income support to landholding farmer families. Under the scheme, each farmer receives ₹6,000 annually in three equal installments of ₹2,000. The amount is directly credited to the farmers’ bank accounts, offering financial stability and ensuring timely support for their agricultural needs.

How Farmers Can Check Their Beneficiary Status

Farmers can easily check their PM-KISAN beneficiary status by following these steps:

  1. Visit the Official PM Kisan Website.
  2. Access the Beneficiary Status Page.
  3. Enter your Aadhaar Number or Account Number.
  4. Click on “Get Data” to view your status and payment details.

PM-KISAN Mobile Application & e-KYC Process

Farmers can also access PM-KISAN services through the mobile app. Here’s how to use it:

  1. Download the PM Kisan App.
  2. Log in using Aadhaar or Registration ID.
  3. Enter the OTP sent to your registered mobile number.
  4. Check your Beneficiary and Installment Status.

For e-KYC, three modes are available: OTP-based e-KYC via the app or portal, biometric-based e-KYC at Common Service Centers (CSCs), and face authentication via the mobile app.

Efforts to Streamline Access to PM-KISAN Services

To ease the verification process, over 4 lakh Common Service Centres and State Seva Kendras across the country offer Aadhaar-based biometric authentication for farmers. This ensures that e-KYC services are accessible in their vicinity, enhancing the convenience of availing benefits.
