The first phase of voting for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections will take place on 19th April 2024. There are only a few days left for this. All parties have intensified their preparations. Meanwhile, the cycle of allegations and counter-allegations has also begun. In the midst of this, a statement by Prashant Kishor, the founder of the Jan Suraaj Padyatra, has once again heated up the politics. In a conversation with the news agency PTI, he said that the BJP has worked hard in recent years to increase its presence in South and Eastern India.
This time in the Lok Sabha elections, the party may benefit from this. Regarding Rahul Gandhi, he said that if the results are not as desired, then Rahul Gandhi should step aside and give someone else a chance. Let’s us tell you what Prashant Kishor said about the BJP and whether the BJP can gain a significant lead in the South and East.
Prashant Kishor’s jibe at Rahul Gandhi
Speaking to PTI, Prashant Kishor said, “Rahul Gandhi feels that he knows everything. If you do not recognize the need for help, then no one can help you. He believes that he needs someone who can implement what he thinks is right. This is not possible. Now he should take a break. When you have been doing the same thing for the last 10 years and have not succeeded, there is no harm in taking a break. You should allow someone else to do it for five years.”
BJP’s seats may increase in Eastern and Southern India
Prashant Kishor said, “The BJP’s number of seats may increase significantly in Eastern and Southern India, and we will also see a massive surge in their vote share, which is more significant in states like Tamil Nadu. I had said this a year ago for the first time. I see the BJP in double digits in terms of vote share in Tamil Nadu. The BJP will be either the first or second party in Telangana, which will definitely be number one in Odisha, in my opinion. There is a strong possibility that the BJP will become the number one party in West Bengal.”
BJP’s hopes of winning 370 seats are low
On the BJP winning 370 seats, Prashant Kishor said, “The BJP is unlikely to win 370 seats. The BJP has entered the electoral fray with this very goal. Apart from this, the BJP will maintain its hold in Western India. It is worth noting that PM Modi has given the slogan of ‘abki baar, 400 paar.’ However, Kishor clearly stated that the BJP could win an easy victory in this election. He also took a jibe at Rahul Gandhi contesting from Wayanad, saying, “If you do not win in UP and Bihar, there is no benefit in winning from Wayanad. Strategically, I can say that not contesting from Amethi will send the wrong message to the public.”
Will this be Rahul Gandhi’s last election?
During the conversation with PTI, Prashant Kishor said, “The opposition has missed an opportunity, and now neither the BJP can be ignored, nor can Narendra Modi be underestimated.” Taking a jibe at Rahul Gandhi, he said, “If the Congress does not get the desired results this time, Rahul Gandhi should take a little break. When you have been doing the same thing for the last 10 years and have not succeeded, there is no harm in taking a break. You should allow someone else to do it for five years.” It will be interesting to see how the India alliance and the Congress react to this statement by Prashant Kishor.
