Pregnant teenager: A 15-year-old girl delivered a baby at home on March 2 and immediately strangled the newborn to death in Maharashtra’s Nagpur. She hid the body in a box.
She gave birth by watching YouTube videos. The teenager is allegedly a victim of sexual exploitation.
Reports said, a man acquainted her on social media and allegedly sexually exploited her. The police identified the man as Ramesh Thakur.
Hid her baby bump
After becoming pregnant, the girl hid her baby bump from her mother by telling her that she was having some health issues.
To maintain secrecy, the pregnant teenager hit upon the idea of home delivery and started watching YouTube videos. On March 2, she gave birth to a girl at her home and immediately strangled the newborn to death. She hid the body in a box in her home, the police said.
When the girl’s mother came to know about the incident, they filed a police complaint. A case has been registered under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act and murder charges will be invoked against the girl after receiving a postmortem report, the police said.
