IND vs AUS: The Ahmedabad Crime Branch’s cyber division arrested two Madhya Pradesh residents in connection with threats made during the India-Australia test match at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium.

The authorities were looking into pro-Khalistani parties’ threats to disrupt the India-Australia test match series in Ahmedabad. The accused were allegedly utilising SIM box technology to deliver the threats, which were provoked by Prime Minister Modi and his Australian counterpart Anthony Albanese’s attendance in Ahmedabad earlier this week.

The Ahmedabad police monitored the accused’s movements via Punjab, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and Madhya Pradesh. Following searches, two arrests were made in the MP districts of Satna and Rewa. Fake Twitter handles from Pakistan are also said to have been utilised to issue the threats. On Thursday, Prime Minister Modi and Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese attended the first day of the last Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Ahmedabad.

Later that day, at a joint news conference with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, PM Modi criticised the attack of temples in Australia by pro-Khalistani gangs. “I’ve heard rumours of temple attacks in Australia. “I told Minister Albanese about it, and he assured me that the safety and well-being of the Indian community in Australia is a top priority for them,” PM Modi added. “Our teams will be in frequent contact on this topic and will collaborate to the greatest extent possible,” he added.
