Maharashtra witnessed violent clashes between two groups clashed over a Social Media Post. Right Wings organizations had called a protest in the city to show their dissent against a Controversial Social Media Post. The Police had to resort to lathicharge to control the agitating protestors. According to reports the Social Media Post had shown a Mughal leader which had triggered a brawl between the two sides. The post had also shown people celebrating with posters of Aurangzeb and Tipu Sultan. A large number of people had gathered at the Shivaji Chowk to carry out the Bandh call. Soon scuffle broke out among the crowd forcing the cops to handle the protestors.

Maharashtra CM: Guilty won’t be spared
Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde also took stock of the situation and said that it is the Government’s responsibility to maintain law and order in the state. I appeal to the public to maintain calm and peace. Action will be taken against those found guilty. Police investigation is underway. Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister Devendra fadnavis also reacted on the incident saying, such acts won’t be tolerated People of a particular community are glorifying Aurangzeb, this will not be tolerated. Aurangzeb is being glorified in different districts of Maharashtra.
