Honoring ISRO and Industry Collaboration

National Space Day is an occasion to honour the nation’s industry’s collective efforts as well as the hard work and devotion of ISRO’s scientists and engineers. In keeping with India’s space accomplishments, this day also officially designates the landing sites of Chandrayaan-3 and Chandrayaan-2 as “Shiva Shakti Point” and “Tiranga Point,” respectively.

PM Modi’s Vision for India’s Space Sector

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership in bolstering India’s space environment has been commended by ISRO Chairman S Somanath. Somanath emphasised the recent policy changes and actions led by PM Modi in an interview with ANI, saying that they have been crucial in promoting the space industry. He underlined that in order to create an atmosphere that is favourable for more private sector participation in space activities, PM Modi’s leadership has been essential in putting important policy changes into effect.

The ISRO chief also mentioned three major initiatives following the space sector reforms, noting that the newly developed space policy clearly outlines the roles and responsibilities of the Department of Space, ISRO, and NewSpace India Limited (NSIL). This policy paves the way for increased participation of private entities in the country’s space endeavors.
