PUBG Love Story: A love story that started with Seema Ghulam Haider from Pakistan and Sachin Singh from India meeting online while playing PUBG: Battlegrounds has grabbed attention of many people. On Tuesday, the couple was arrested from Ballabhgarh in Haryana. Seema had illegally crossed into India via Nepal in May along with her four children. Sachin had arranged a place for her to stay in Greater Noida and they even approached a lawyer to get married. It was the lawyer that reported them to police. Sachin’s father has also been arrested for harboring Seema.
Early contact and meeting in Nepal
In 2019, 30 year old Seema Ghulam Haider from Karachi, Pakistan and Sachin Singh from Noida, India met online while playing PUBG. The two played PUBG for 3-4 hours every night and it continued for a while. They stayed in contact and developed mutual liking for each other. Seema’s second husband in Pakistan had left for Saudi Arabi to work as a mason and Seema was left alone with her 4 children from her first marriage.
After COVID lockdown couple finally got to meet in Nepal. The couple met for the first time in March 2023, 4 years after talking with each other. They stayed together for 7 days and made a resolve to live together.
Making way into India and arrest
The couple carefully hatched a plan after watching hours of video on YouTube. As per the police, a travel agent got Seema a ticket from Pakistan to Nepal with her four children. Some reports even claim that she took a flight from Dubai. She reached India in the third week of May on a bus from Nepal via Pokhara and managed to get past border security as she was a woman with four children. Seema is reported to have spent Rs 12 lakh to travel to India via Nepal.
Sachin’s father, Netrapal Singh, was dismissive of their match but planned to get them settled in India after their marriage. When they approached legal counsel to get married, they were snitched to police by a lawyer. The police arrested Seema, Sachin and his father and were sentenced 14-day judicial custody on Tuesday. All the four children of Seema will stay with her in jail.
The India authorities have informed Pakistan High Commission about Seema and the security lapse is being investigated by the police. The couple however has made repeated requests to authorities to stay together.
“I left Pakistan to stay with Sachin. He means the world to me. I love him a lot. I want to get married to him and stay here (in India),I have left everything for him.” Seema told the press.
Sachin has also pleaded to Indian government “I am requesting the government to let us get married and stay together, We love each other a lot.”
The authorities have started with their investigation and it remains to be seen what becomes of the PUBG couple.
