Jammu and Kashmir: Terrorists’ plan to launch a major attack failed due to the security forces.
According to reports, the terrorists were once again going to carry out a major attack like Pulwama, but the security forces defied plan.
Indian security forces have recovered a large amount of explosives from Pulwama district of South Kashmir on Thursday. It is believed that the terrorists were going to use this explosive for a major attack like Pulwama.
As per information about the presence of militants from terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammed, police along with army and CRPF conducted a joint investigation of Gadikhal village in Avantipora.
During the exploration of the forest area, 2 explosive dumps were found, which were hidden under the ground in 2 separate 250-liter plastic tanks.
Police said, ‘416 high-explosive gelatin sticks (sticks) have been recovered in a plastic tank, while 50 detonators have been recovered in another plastic tank. The detonators were destroyed on the spot due to the risk of carrying them on behalf of the bomb disposal squad.’
According to an Army statement, a joint search operation at 8 AM on Thursday at “the Karewa area of Gadikal” exposed a Syntex tank that was buried in an orchard.
”Around 52 kilograms of explosives were found in that water tank. There were 416 packets of explosives with 125 gm in each. The explosives are called ‘Super-90’ or S-90 in short”, the official said.
On February 14 last year, a suicide bomber had rammed an explosive-laden car into a CRPF convoy in Pulwama killing 40 soldiers. It was one of the deadliest attacks in Kashmir in recent years. Last month, the NIA filed a charge sheet in the case, detailing how the attack was planned and executed by JeM.
