Punjab: In a bid to promote the use of electric vehicles in Punjab, the government has allotted funds of around 300 crore for the use of electric vehicles. The funds have been allotted for the next three years to support the use of electric vehicles by commuters. These funds will be allotted for Two Wheelers, E-Cycles, E-Rickshaws and Electrical Light vehicles.

Officers asked to look for suitable sites for charging vehicle
The Transport Minister has directed the officials to take care of the Electric Vehicle Fund for the smooth functioning of EV’s in the city. The Minister has also directed the officials to prepare a report on the progress of the project within a month. He has also asked officers to look for suitable sites and vehicle charging stations.
‘Vehicles more than 15 years should be replaced’
The Transport Minister also instructed the officers to get rid of the old vehicles and buses which are operating for more than 15 years, and they should be replaced by the electric vehicles.
