In his recent speech in the Rajya Sabha, one such critical issue that had been haunting the film industry, Chadha brought up, was piracy. He revealed that it is because of rampant piracy that the industry suffers a loss of about Rs 20,000 crore every year. This huge financial loss further gets compounded with an increase in digital piracy, which had increased during the pandemic period, thereby making the crisis still worse and putting additional pressure on the financial stability of the artists and the entire industry.
He has urged the Government of India to take immediate steps to check this. Chadha has called for adequate stringent measures to control the piracy happening on OTT platforms and has sought a special law regarding this. His appeal to Rajya Sabha Chairman, Jagdeep Dhankhar reflects the serious situation and adverse impact of piracy on the livelihood of people related to the film industry.

Other than piracy, Raghav Chadha has been quite active in relation to many other reforms. He recently moved a resolution for reducing the minimum age for contesting elections to Rajya Sabha from 25 to 21 years; this shall ensure that more and more youth come into mainstream politics. He has also pressed for the immediate release of pending funds lying with the Centre for the development schemes of Punjab so that it achieves new milestones of progress.
