NEET 2024: Rahul Gandhi, a Congress member, attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday on the cancellation of UGC-NET and the ongoing NEET controversy. Rahul Gandhi poked fun at Prime Minister Modi, stating, “It was being said that Modi ji stopped Russia-Ukraine war. However, for a variety of reasons, Narendra Modi is either unwilling or unable to put an end to India’s paper leaks.” Now Congress is Pointing Out on BJP related to NTA.
UGC-NET Exam Cancellation Sparks Controversy
The Education Ministry canceled the UGC-NET exam on Wednesday due to concerns that the test’s integrity may have been compromised. The exam was administered by the National Testing Agency on June 18. The CBI has been tasked with conducting an investigation into the situation. According to Rahul Gandhi, the BJP’s parent organization “has captured the education system,” which is why the papers were being leaked.
“Till the time this is not reversed, paper leaks will go on. Modi ji has facilitated this capture. It is an anti-national activity,” Rahul Gandhi said. The Congress MP went on to say that vice chancellors of universities were chosen by “a particular organization” rather than on the basis of their qualifications.
Under the Ministry of Education, the NTA was founded in 2017 as a top testing organization to administer entrance tests for fellowships and admission to postsecondary education institutions. The examination body is in charge of efficiently, transparently, and error-free administering the JEE (Main), NEET-UG, CMAT, GPAT, and UGC-NET admission exams.
The organization collaborates closely with numerous state governments, universities, state education boards, UGC, AIU, NCTE, NCERT, CBSE, CISCE, NIOS, and other organizations through a staff of education administrators, specialists, researchers, and assessment creators. The purpose of NTA is to assess students’ talents and create an examination system that meets the needs of higher education institutions.
Rahul Gandhi Criticizes BJP for Education System ‘Capture’
“And this organisation and the BJP have penetrated our education system and destroyed it. What was done by Narendra Modi to the economy with demonetisation, has now been done to the education system,” Rahul Gandhi said.
He added, “The reason this is happening and the reason you’re suffering is because an independent, objective education system has been demolished… It is very important that the people who are guilty here are brought to book and they are punished.”
Rahul Gandhi declared that his party would bring up the UGC-NET cancelation and NEET controversy in Parliament. Gandhi’s party is scheduled to meet with students who were impacted by purported errors in the NEET in the interim.
