Rahul Gandhi has given the certificate of “goodwill” in China in Cambridge that the influence of his communist advisors and comrades has deepened on him. Rahul Gandhi’s communist advisor who keeps civil liberties paramount in Indian democracy but changes the goalposts when it comes to dictatorship in China. Then they start talking about “goodwill” instead of civil liberties.
Rahul Gandhi defends China’s communist dictatorship by saying that they have suffered a lot and hence China’s ‘curtailment of civil liberties’ becomes justified. According to Rahul Gandhi, if China cuts civil rights, it is necessary for harmony, but in India, where there is democracy, where Narendra Modi is forming the government with full majority for two times, civil rights can be abolished by ‘dictator Modi’. And democratic institutions are being destroyed. In Cambridge, Rahul kept trying to prove that the present government of India is not only anti-democratic, but it is destroying India. Rahul Gandhi said that he is being spied on. To justify his point, he cited some officers and said that those officers had advised him to speak carefully on the phone. Rahul did not stop here either. He also said that all the institutions of India are under the control of the government. Even the media and the courts are controlled by the government.
It is a coincidence that at the same time Rahul was saying this in Cambridge, at the same time the Supreme Court in the country was giving such a decision on the appointment of the Chief Election Commissioner, which ties the hands of the government, while establishing its supremacy over the elected government. So the question is, has democracy really been murdered in India or is Rahul deliberately trying to show a wrong picture of India?
This is not the first time that Rahul Gandhi has spoken such a thing on foreign soil. Many times, Rahul Gandhi has not only raised the internal issues of the Government of India and the country on foreign soil, but has also tried to put the Government of India in the dock. Once he even compared India with Pakistan.
It is about the year 2022. Even then, while addressing the students of Cambridge University in London, Rahul Gandhi had not only compared India with Pakistan, but also described Ladakh as Ukraine.
Interestingly, Rahul was accompanied by RJD’s Tejashwi Yadav, Manoj Jha, TMC’s Mahua Moitra and CPI(M)’s Sitaram Yechury. Rahul then also accused the central government of misusing institutions like the CBI. In the same lecture, Rahul had targeted the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and said that for the Sangh, India is such a golden bird, whose share it wants to distribute. Then Rahul had also said that there is no place for the Dalits of the country in this. In the same speech, Rahul Gandhi blamed religious polarization and power’s control over the media for his party’s defeat.
