Rahul Gandhi Viral Video: As the curtain falls on the high-voltage campaign for Maharashtra Elections 2024, a viral video featuring Congress leader and Lok Sabha’s Leader of Opposition (LoP), Rahul Gandhi, has taken social media by storm. Known for his sharp jabs at the ruling government, Rahul Gandhi once again targeted PM Modi and industrialist Gautam Adani, questioning the slogan “Ek hai toh safe hai.”
During a press conference in Mumbai, the Congress leader raised eyebrows by bringing a prop—a locked safe with the slogan boldly displayed. He opened the safe, revealing two posters: one depicting a map of Dharavi and the other showing PM Modi and Gautam Adani greeting each other. “The question is—who is safe, and whose safety is guaranteed?” Gandhi remarked, drawing a clear line of criticism against the Dharavi Redevelopment Project (DRP).
Rahul Gandhi’s Viral Video Stirring Conversations in Maharashtra’s Political Arena
The Rahul Gandhi viral video, shared by Congress on X (formerly Twitter), highlighted his fiery statements accusing the BJP-led government of favoritism. In the video, Gandhi alleged that the slogan “Ek hai toh safe hai” reflects a narrative that benefits Adani at the cost of ordinary citizens. The caption read:
“Narendra Modi ka slogan hai: Ek hain toh safe hain. Sawal hai—Ek kaun hai, safe kaun hai, aur safe kiska hai? Jawab hai—Ek Narendra Modi, Adani, Amit Shah hain, aur safe sirf Adani hain. Wahin, isme nuksaan Maharashtra ki janta ka hai, Dharavi ki janta ka hai.”
Rahul Gandhi specifically criticized the ₹1 lakh crore Dharavi Redevelopment Project, labeling its tendering process as a deliberate move to favor Adani Group. “Dharavi’s land, valued at ₹1 lakh crore, is being handed over to Adani. This project is neither in the interest of the people of Dharavi, nor Mumbai, nor Maharashtra,” he declared.
Rahul Gandhi Raises Concerns Over Projects Moving Out of Maharashtra
Rahul Gandhi raised concerns about several major industrial projects being relocated from Maharashtra to other states. According to him, significant projects, collectively worth approximately ₹7 lakh crore, were redirected. These included:
- An international financial services center worth ₹1.63 lakh crore.
- A Tata aircraft project valued at ₹1.1 lakh crore.
- A GAIL petrochemical project worth ₹3,000 crore.
- A high-profile iPhone manufacturing project estimated at ₹2 lakh crore.
The Dharavi Controversy
The Dharavi Redevelopment Project, aimed at transforming Asia’s largest slum, has long been a subject of debate. While the project promises to uplift millions of residents, critics, including Gandhi, argue that the process has been opaque, with undue benefits flowing to influential corporations. The project’s high valuation and its handover to a single conglomerate have added fuel to the political fire.
With the Maharashtra Assembly elections scheduled for November 20, Rahul Gandhi’s viral video, in which he targeted PM Modi and Gautam Adani, has generated significant political buzz as the state prepares for the upcoming elections.
