Rahul Gandhi’s First Ladakh Visit Since Article 370 Repeal
Rahul is visiting Ladakh for the first time since Jammu and Kashmir was divided into Ladakh and J-K as a result of the repeal of Article 370. On Thursday, Rahul Gandhi arrived in Ladakh and was greeted enthusiastically by party officials and supporters at the Leh airport. On Friday, he spoke with kids during a gathering in Leh. Addressing an interactive session, Rahul Gandhi said that “India got freedom in 1947 and consolidation of freedom in India is constitutional. The Constitution is a move… The way you put Constitution into action is by setting up institutions that support the vision of the Constitution. The Lok Sabha, and Rajya Sabha, force all these elements… Now what RSS is doing is it is placing its own people in key pots of institutional structure.” Rahul Gandhi had planned a two-day trip to Ladakh, but on Friday he added another six days to his itinerary. Against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Congress and the National Conference have formed a pre-election coalition for the Kargil Hill Council elections, which are set for September 10.
