Rajnath Singh: The defence minister, stated on Monday that while India is a nation that values peace, this does not mean that it is cowardly or wary.
The defence minister was speaking at a gathering where he congratulated the families of the valiant members of the Armed Forces from Himachal Pradesh who gave their lives in Badoli in the Kangra district in the service of the country.
He claimed that India is the only nation that has spread the message of peace to the entire world and that people all over the world admire its military for its bravery.
If there was ever an attempt to disturb the peace in India, a suitable response would be delivered
Rajnath Singh gave the people the assurance that if there was ever an attempt to disturb the peace in India, a suitable response would be delivered, despite the fact that he insisted that India had never attacked any nation or taken any foreign territory.
“India is a nation that values peace, but this does not mean that it is cowardly or war-averse. We had to deal with tension on the northern border with China at a time when Covid-19 affected the entire world. No matter how strong the opposition is, India will never submit, as evidenced by the bravery of our men during the Galwan tragedy, he remarked.

Rajnath Singh commented on the 2016 surgical strikes and the 2019 Balakot airstrikes, saying that India’s new anti-terrorism strategy has broken the backs of those who seek to harm the unity and integrity of the country.
“A well-planned strategy was used to carry out terrorist acts from Pakistan across the border. Following the Uri and Pulwama attacks, our administration and the Armed Forces demonstrated to the world India’s unflinching determination to stomp out terrorism through the 2016 surgical strikes and the 2019 Balakot airstrikes. We demonstrated that our forces are equipped to intervene both on this side of the border and, if necessary, on the other. India’s reputation has changed. On international platforms, it is now carefully listened to, he claimed.
Rajnath Singh paid tribute to the families of the fallen soldiers and said that the nation would always be grateful for the sacrifices made by the brave military.
He said that since they exhibit the qualities of discipline, devotion to duty, patriotism, and sacrifice and are a representation of national pride and trust, the Armed Forces would always serve as an inspiration to the public, particularly the youth.
Background, religion, and faith are irrelevant; what counts is that the tri-color, which is our national flag, keeps flying high, he remarked.
Rajnath Singh also discussed the government’s steadfast commitment to building a strong and “Aatmanirbhar” nation as well as the advancements made possible by the steps taken to realise the Prime Minister’s vision.
India used to be known as a defence importer. It currently ranks among the top 25 exporters of defence goods worldwide. Defense exports have increased to about Rs 13,000 crore from roughly Rs 900 crore eight years ago. We are optimistic that the defence export target of Rs 2.7 lakh crore set for 2047 would be met and that defence exports will reach Rs 35,000 crore by 2025.
Rajnath Singh added that the Department of Military Affairs and the creation of the Chief of Defence Staff are two other significant reforms made to strengthen national security.

“The National Defense Academy (NDA) has opened its doors to female students, and women have been given permanent commission in the armed forces. We have made it possible for women to serve on warships, he added, adding that the government is constructing a “New India” that will instil confidence and security in all of our friendly, peaceful neighbours while leaving those with malicious intentions with nothing but dust.
“The people are kept alive by the tremendous sacrifice of the brave heroes”.
“The soldier is the one who bears the attack and defends the nation when the ominous clouds of war appear and threaten national interests. He said, “The people are kept alive by the tremendous sacrifice of the slain heroes”.
Himachal Pradesh, according to Rajnath Singh, is a border state that is strategically significant to India, and the citizens who live there are strategic assets.
In the border regions, hundreds of kilometres of roads, bridges, and tunnels have been built, with the Atal Tunnel in Himachal Pradesh being one of the major initiatives, he noted.
Rajnath Singh also brought up India’s triumph in the war of 1971, claiming that it will go down in history as a conflict fought for the good of humanity rather than any form of possessions, privileges, or authority.
