During the ritual of tying the Rakhi on your brother’s wrist, it’s customary to put together the necessary items on an Aarti plate. This plate typically includes the Rakhi itself, along with roli (vermillion powder), a diya (lamp), kumkum (red powder), akshat (rice grains), and sweets. Before proceeding to tie the Rakhi, it’s necesary to apply a tilak (a mark) on your brother’s forehead as a blessing. Following this, you tie the Rakhi onto his right wrist.
