Randeep Hooda removed as ambassador of UN treaty

As per the reports, bollywood actor Randeep Hooda has been removed as ambassador of the Convention for the Protection of Migratory Species of Wild Animals (CMS) after his castiest joke.

Also known as the Bonn Convention, the CMS is an environmental treaty of the United Nations. In february 2020 Randeep was appointed as ambassador.

This comes after an old video of the actor went viral where he was seen making a joke on the former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati, which several said was “casteist and sexist”. He was speaking at an event hosted by the media house, India Today, in 2012.

As the video went viral, the Twitterati used #ArrestRandeepHooda and lashed out at him for the same.

CMS Secretariat wasn’t aware of Randeep’s video Or comment:

The Secretariat of CMS said a video clip was brought to its notice and they found the comments made by Randeep Hooda not only “offensive” but they did not reflect the values” of the CMS Secretariat or the United Nations.

The CMS secretariat also added that it wasn’t aware of these comments or the video in question when Randeep Hooda was appointed as an ambassador for his work protecting and saving India’s endangered wildlife in February 2020.

Munmum Dutta & Yuvika Choudhary too landed into trouble:

This is not the first time when something like this happened. Recently, actors Munmun Dutta and Yuvika Choudhary too landed into trouble after making a casteist slur on social media. Meanwhile, Randeep Hooda was last seen in ‘Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai’, starring Salman Khan and Disha Patani.
