Randeep Surjewala on Hema Malini: On Thursday, April 4, the Bharatiya Janata Party attacked the Congress with a stinging attack after Randeep Surjewala’s disparaging remarks on Hema Malini went viral. Congressman Charan Das Mahant was also criticised by BJP MP Sudhanshu Trivedi for his comments disparaging Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
BJP’s Condemnation
In response to remarks made by Congressman Randeep Surjewala about Hema Malini, BJP MP Sudhanshu Trivedi said, “…This is a new low to disrespect and demean the dignity of women in Indian politics by the Congress party. On one side, there is PM Modi who named the south pole of the moon where India became the first country to land as the ‘Shiv-Shakti’ point and on the other side it’s Congress and their statements about women.”
“This is not just merely an isolated statement by a Congress leader but a structured and well-thought-of dastardly mindset of the Congress party regarding the dignity of women…Hema Malini is of the age of Sonia Gandhi and she is a symbol of self-made women in post-independence India,” he said.
Critique of Charan Das Mahant’s Remarks
BJP MP Sudhanshu Trivedi comments on Congressman Charan Das Mahant’s statement about Prime Minister Modi. He said, “It is expected that after being opposed by the people and ever-increasing support and affection towards PM Modi, opposition leader mainly Congress seems to have lost their mental balance. Chhattisgarh LoP has once again used derogatory language for PM Modi which has been a habit of Congress. Such language is saddening in democracy… I want to ask, ‘Ye Mohabbat Ki Dukaan Se Kon Kon Se Farmaan Hai?’. Congress claims to hold exclusive copyright and be from the tradition of Gandhi, did Gandhi use to have a stick for this reason?…”
