Independence Day 2023: At the iconic Red Fort of the Mughal era in New Delhi, a thorough security plan has been constructed in advance of India’s upcoming 77th Independence Day celebration. According to PTI, around 10,000 police officers have been deployed together with a variety of technology innovations, including 1,000 facial recognition cameras and anti-drone equipment, to guarantee the event is safe and secure.
Enhancing Security Through Comprehensive Measures and Real-Time Information Sharing
The Special Commissioner of Police in charge of Law and Order, Dependra Pathak, emphasised the completeness of the security arrangements. He highlighted that Independence Day 2023 celebration would be marked by genuine joy, in contrast to the previous year, which was hampered by COVID-19 limitations. To ensure the success of the proceedings, a significant police presence has been deployed. Pathak articulated, “Our focus is not only on a robust police presence but also on integrating real-time information sharing with other pertinent agencies to bolster security measures. Employing cutting-edge technology systems forms a key component of our strategy. Preparations are in full swing, with rehearsals underway.”
20000 Participants Anticipated for Independence Day Celebrations
Over 20,000 authorities and regular citizens are expected to participate in full in the Independence Day celebrations. A total of 1,800 privileged guests, including PM-KISAN programme recipients from all throughout the country, have received invites from the government to attend the ceremony. The integration of sophisticated surveillance capabilities is also included in the security improvements. The Red Fort premises, as well as important locations nearby, have been strategically covered with some 1,000 cameras outfitted with facial recognition and video analytics. The surveillance of high-profile individuals’ movements and full security coverage are made possible by this tactical installation. The security procedure also includes a variety of counterterrorism measures, such as installing air defence guns. To protect Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other prominent guests, elite SWAT commandos, sharpshooters, and snipers will be posted at key vantage points. According to the PTI report, 153 kite catchers have been stationed at key areas and are equipped with the tools they need to capture kites. Notably, it has been urged that people refrain from flying kites in the area around the Red Fort until the event is over. Prime Minister Modi, who will address the nation from the storied Red Fort, will be the centre of attention throughout the Independence Day festivities. He has the ceremonial raising of the National Flag and inspection of the Guard of Honour on his schedule.
