Independence Day 2023: On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lead the nation in commemorating the 77th anniversary of Independence Day from Delhi’s renowned Red Fort. Around 1,800 individuals were invited as distinguished guests to the Independence Day 2023 celebrations, including spouses from a variety of professions.
Varied Professions Represented at Red Fort
More than 400 sarpanches from more than 660 villages are among these special guests, along with 250 members of the Farmer Producer Organisations scheme, 50 participants in each of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme and Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana, 50 Shram Yogis (constructors) working on the Central Vista Project, which includes the new Parliament building, 50 Khadi workers, 50 members of the border road construction crews, 50. During their stay in Delhi, several of these distinguished visitors had plans to visit the National War Memorial and speak with Minister of State for Defence Ajay Bhatt. According to a statement from the Ministry of Defence, the action was done in accordance with the Government’s vision of Jan Bhagidari.
Diverse Group of Special Guests Includes Farmers, Skilled Workers, and More
Up to 75 couples from each state and Union Territory (UT) have also been invited to attend the ceremony at Red Fort while dressed traditionally. PM Modi will raise the national flag during the festivities and address the nation as is usual from the ramparts of the historical site. At 12 locations, including the National War Memorial, India Gate, Vijay Chowk, New Delhi Railway Station, Pragati Maidan, Raj Ghat, Jama Masjid Metro Station, Rajiv Chowk Metro Station, Delhi Gate Metro Station, ITO Metro Gate, Naubat Khana, and Sheesh Ganj Gurdwara, selfie points have been installed to honour various government programmes and initiatives.
Celebratory Selfie Points Showcase India’s Transformative Initiatives
The schemes/initiatives include Global Hope: Vaccine and Yoga; Ujjwala Yojana; Space Power; Digital India; Skill India; Start-up India; Swachh Bharat; Sashakt Bharat, Naya Bharat; Powering India; Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and Jal Jeevan Mission, the release said. The Ministry of Defence will hold a selfie contest on the MyGov website from August 15 to August 20 as a part of the festivities. To enter the contest, individuals are urged to take selfies at one or more of the 12 installations and post them on the MyGov portal. The results of the online selfie competition will be used to choose twelve winners, one from each installation. The announcement added that the reward money for the winners would be Rs 10,000 each.
