As India is celebrating its 73rd Republic Day, the Doodle artwork of the Google search engine reflects the elements of the largest official display of the national pride held on the day.
Google Doodle depicts parade animals: an elephant, a horse, a dog, a camel; a red tabla; the parade path; a saxophone as part of the camel-mounted band; doves; and the tricolours of the nationals flag.
Today’s Republic Day India doodle is the 11th Republic Day doodle to feature on Google India’s home page.
Last year in 2021, showcasing India’s diversity and range of vibrant cultures, Google marked country’s 72nd Republic Day with a doodle created by Mumbai-based artist Onkar Fondekar. It reflected the range of vibrant cultures that bring the colourful nation to life.
The Indian Constitution was adopted on November 26, 1949 and officially enacted on this day in 1950 to coincide with the day the Indian National Congress declared Purna Swaraj or ‘complete freedom.’

Republic Day celebrations began on January 23 this year, with the central government marking the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled a hologram statue of Bose at the India Gate in the national capital.
The celebrations this year are special as Republic Day falls in the 75th year of Independence, being celebrated as ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ across the country.
Every year, India showcases its military might, cultural diversity, social and economic progress during the Republic Day parade at Rajpath in New Delhi.
