Republic Day 2023: On January 26, there will be certain limitations on Delhi Metro service due to Republic Day festivities. On Republic Day, Delhi Metro rail services will still be available, although boarding and deboarding will be limited at the Central Secretariat and Udyog Bhawan stations.
Which metro stations will be affected due to Republic Day 2023?
Only those who have received an invitation to the event or who have a ticket are permitted to board or disembark at the Central Secretariat and Udyog Bhawan stations during the Republic Day Parade. The limitations will be in effect on January 26 from 5 AM to 2 PM.
At Central Secretariat, Udyog Bhawan, or Mandi House, attendees can board the metro once the march is done. In order to give residents additional convenience, parking will continue to be available across all metro stations. The DMRC announcement states that all metro parking lots will be closed from 6 a.m. on January 25 until 2 p.m. on January 26.
Free tickets on Republic Day 2023
The five-day “Bharat Parv” is being held in Red Fort starting on January 26 by the Ministry of Tourism. The Delhi Traffic Police has thus implemented detours that will be in effect from January 26 to January 31. There will be traffic detours at the following locations: Delhi Gate Chhatta, Rail Chowk, T-Point at Subhash Marg, Hanuman Mandir, Yamuna Bazaar, Shanti Van, and GPO at Kashmiri Gate.
For the convenience of individuals with valid e-Invitation Cards/tickets attending the 74th Republic Day celebration at Kartavya Path on January 26, 2023, the Delhi Metro will offer free tickets to attendees.
