Republic Day 2024: On Thursday, French President Emmanuel Macron is scheduled to land in Jaipur as part of his two-day official visit to India. Macron is in the nation as this year’s chief guest for Republic Day 2024. Macron will leave Amer Fort to start his busy day in Jaipur. He’s going to walk up to the fort, where a cultural event is scheduled for him.
Prime Ministerial Rendezvous at Jantar Mantar
He will next meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Jantar Mantar, a World Heritage Site. Given the area’s historical significance to the French, the two leaders will take a stroll around it. The largest stone sundial in the world is found in Jantar Mantar, the largest observatory in the world.

Scholar Dhruv Raina says that in 1734, two French Jesuit astronomers stationed at the Jesuit mission in then French-ruled West Bengal’s Chandernagore (now Chandannagar) were called to the court of Sawai Jai Singh, the astronomer monarch and founder of Jaipur.
Sawai Jai Singh constructed the 19 astronomical instruments that make up the Jantar Mantar. Following that, PM Modi and Macron will go together from Jantar Mantar to Sanganeri Gate, making a stop at Hawa Mahal.

At the Hawa Mahal, a photo opportunity has been arranged. During the tour, PM Modi and Macron are probably going to stop by a tea shop and a handicraft store. Following that, the two leaders will go to the venerable Albert Hall Museum. PM Modi will give Macron a private luncheon at Rambagh Palace to cap off the day. The French President will then travel to Delhi to attend the Republic Day procession.

Macron is scheduled to meet with employees at the French Embassy following the procession. He is scheduled to attend the ‘At Home’ celebration at Rashtrapati Bhavan in the evening, which will be preceded by a formal banquet meal.
The celebration of the strategic partnership between France and India for its 25th anniversary comes to an end with Macron’s visit. There will probably be significant announcements from both parties in the defence and strategic domains.
Macron’s Invite Reflects Growing Bilateral Relations
The invitation to invite Macron to the Republic Day celebrations came at a time when the two nations’ relations were rapidly improving, particularly in the fields of trade and investment, clean energy, defence and security, and new technologies. Along with a delegation of many ministries, CEOs, and prominent figures from the scientific and artistic fields, Macron will be travelling.
Additionally, India and France pledged to work together to co-develop and co-produce cutting-edge defence technologies, even for the benefit of other nations. PM Modi attended the Bastille Day (French National Day) parade in Paris in July of last year as the honoured guest.
