The nation’s capital will witness an elaborate parade at Kartavya Path, highlighting India’s military strength and cultural diversity, with a special focus on women’s empowerment or Nari Shakti.

- All-Women Tri-Services Contingent: Breaking new ground, an all-women tri-services contingent will participate in the parade. The Indian Air Force’s fly-past will feature fifteen women pilots, and the contingents of the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) will exclusively consist of women personnel.
- Musical Prelude by Women Artistes: Over 100 women artists will set the tone for the parade by playing traditional Indian musical instruments such as Sankh, Naadswaram, and Nagada, replacing the conventional military bands.
- Indigenous Military Hardware Display: India’s armed forces will showcase indigenous military hardware, including missiles, drone jammers, surveillance systems, vehicle-mounted mortars, and BMP-II infantry combat vehicles.
- Leadership Presence: The ceremony will commence with Prime Minister Narendra Modi paying homage at the National War Memorial. President Droupadi Murmu, accompanied by French President Emmanuel Macron, will lead the parade, starting at 10:30 am.
- French Armed Forces Participation: A combined band and marching contingent of the French Armed Forces will be part of the parade, underscoring the strong bilateral ties between India and France.
- Cultural Depictions through Tableaux: Sixteen tableaux from states and Union territories, along with nine from central ministries, will roll down Kartavya Path, portraying India’s diverse cultural heritage and emphasizing the theme of “women empowerment.”
- Security Measures: Over 70,000 security personnel are deployed in New Delhi to ensure a secure environment for the event. Traffic advisories and restrictions are in place to facilitate smooth vehicular movement during the celebrations.
- Traditional Buggy Arrival: President Murmu and French President Macron will arrive at Kartavya Path in the ‘traditional buggy,’ a tradition revived after 40 years.
- Traffic Restrictions: Kartavya Path, from Vijay Chowk to India Gate, has been closed for traffic from 6 pm on Thursday until the conclusion of the parade, ensuring a safe and uninterrupted celebration.
