Police on Monday issued an order prohibiting the use of drones, paragliding, paramotors, hang gliders, micro-light aircraft, remotely piloted aircraft, hot air balloons, small-size powered aircraft, and quadcopters with effect from January 18 through February 15. This ban was issued in consideration of public safety and security in the nation’s capital.
In view of public safety, Delhi Police prohibits use flying objects with effect from January 18 to February 15
Delhi Police Commissioner said,
“Flying of para-gliders, para-motors, hang gliders, unmanned aerial vehicles, unmanned aircraft systems (UASs), micro-light aircraft, remotely piloted aircraft, hot air balloons, small size powered aircraft, quadcopters not allowed in NCT of Delhi till 15th Feb,”
On Monday, the Delhi police issued the directive in accordance with section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.

The order said,
“It has been reported that certain criminal or anti-social elements or terrorists inimical to India may pose a threat to the safety of the general public, dignitaries and vital Installations by the use of sub-conventional aerial platforms like para-gliders, para-motors, hang gliders, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), unmanned aircraft systems (UASs), micro-light aircraft, remotely piloted aircraft, hot air balloons, small size powered aircraft, quadcopters or even by para-jumping from aircraft,”
The general public, dignitaries, and crucial infrastructure may be in danger during Republic Day celebrations if certain criminals, antisocial elements, or terrorists hostile to India use the aforementioned methods, according to Delhi Police.
Ban will remain in force for a period of 29 days, starting from January 18 to February 15
The police announcement states that the prohibition will be in effect from January 18 to February 15 and last for a total of 29 days.
