Heeraben Modi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mother, Heeraben, who died today in an Ahmedabad hospital, was cremated today in Gandhinagar. She breathed her last at approximately 3.30 a.m. She was admitted to Ahmedabad’s U N Mehta Institute of Cardiology and Research Centre earlier this week due to health concerns.
“Hiraben Modi died on December 30, 2022, at 3.30 a.m., while receiving treatment at U N Mehta Heart Hospital,” according to the medical bulletin. As word of her death spread, condolences and tributes began to pour in.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mother, Heeraben Modi, was cremated in Gandhinagar. PM Modi had flown to Ahmedabad after receiving the information about his mother’s demise where he also performed last rites.
PM Modi first paid tribute to his mother at her Raysan residence before transporting the bier containing the mortal remains to the crematorium for the final rites and performing the final ritual. The last rites were performed at Gandhinagar’s ‘Muktidham’ crematorium in Sector 30. Gujarat chief minister Bhupendra Patel, former CM Vijay Rupani, and Gujarat cabinet ministers attended Heeraben Modi’s funeral.

“Respected PM, today is a sad day for you personally and it’s a great loss of your personal life. I pray to God, may God give you strength and bless you so that you can love your mother with your action and activities. I convey my gratitude to you because you were supposed to come to West Bengal but because of the sad demise of your mother you couldn’t come but have joined us virtually.”
The Chief Minister also requested PM Modi to cut short the programme in order to take rest.
“I don’t know how to give my condolences and messages to your family members and others because the mother is no substitute for any other. On behalf of the people of West Bengal, I thank you so much for giving us this opportunity. Your mother means our mother also. I remember my mother also. May god give you the strength to continue your work,” she added.
