Air India: An Air India air hostess had to go through a harrowing experience in London when an intruder broke into her hotel room and attacked her. Early Thursday morning, several crew members of the Air India were staying at the Radisson Hotel near Heathrow Airport.
Air Hostess Shocked Awake
Reports suggested that the air hostess was sleeping when the intruder entered her room around 1:30 am. She woke up to screams while the assailant attacked her with a clothes hanger and dragged her on the floor. Though shocked, she fought back and, seized by the struggle with fear, started making a run towards the door. Her cries for help attracted other individuals’ intervention, which made it easy to apprehend the intruder before handing him over to the police.
Air India has expressed deep concern over the incident and reiterated its commitment to the safety and well-being of its crew members. It said that full support, including professional counseling, is being given to the affected air hostess.

“Air India accords foremost priority to the safety, security and well-being of our crew and staff members. We are deeply anguished by an unlawful incident of intrusion at a hotel, operated by a major international chain, that affected one of our crew members,” said an Air India spokesperson. The airline is working with the local police and the management of the hotel for such incidents not to recur, while also asking that the privacy of the people concerned be respected.
