To prevent the spread of Covid-19 in Delhi, the weekend curfew came into effect from Friday night and all non-essential activities have been banned for the next 55 hours. The Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) has imposed a weekend curfew from 10 pm on Friday to 5 am on Monday, as per its order dated January 1.
An official spokesperson of Delhi Metro said that metro train services will remain regular on weekends (January 15-16) in compliance with the guidelines of DDMA issued last week. Metro services and public transport buses will run with full seat capacity during the curfew but standing travel will not be allowed.
