Shopian Encounter: Security personnel and militants engage in combat in Shopian, Jammu and Kashmir, according to PTI. “Encounter has started at Alshipora area of Shopian. Police and security forces are on the job. Further details shall follow,” Kashmir Zone Police posted on X.
Morifat Maqbool and Jazim Farooq Abrar Linked to LeT
“Killed terrorists have been identified as Morifat Maqbool and Jazim Farooq Abrar of terror outfit LeT. Terrorist Abrar was involved in the killing of Kashmiri Pandit late Sanjay Sharma,” said ADGP Kashmir. Security forces launched an operation against terrorists in the Alshipora region after receiving information that they were present there. This is when the incident started.
Charges Against Kashmir ADGP Abrar
Kashmir ADGP Abrar was charged with killing Kashmiri Pandit Sanjay Sharma, according to Vijay Kumar. In February, Sanjay Sharma tragically passed away outside of his home in the Pulwama neighbourhood of Achan. He had never left his hometown and worked at J&K Bank as an ATM guard. The State Investigation Agency (SIA) conducted search operations at seven places throughout three districts in south Kashmir last month in relation to the slaying of Sharma.
