Senior Congress leader Kapil Sibal has questioned the delay in the electing the party president by saying the party is in a situation where it should not be.
“In our party, there is no president. So we don’t know who is taking these decisions. We know and yet we don’t know,” Kapil Sibal said while addressing a press conference.
Kapil Sibal said he and other G-23 leaders did not want to leave the party but strengthen it. “I am speaking on behalf of my personal capacity and like-minded people who had written the letter last year. I stand here with a heavy heart. I am a part of a party that has a glorifying past. I can’t see the situation it is at the moment,” Sibal said.
Sibal’s remark came at the when Punjab Congress are dealing with a fresh crisis as state party chief Navjot Singh Sidhu has resigned from the post.
