Why was Brij Bhushan not arrested?
Delhi police recently explained the reasons for not arresting the BJP MP in the case. In its chargesheet, the Delhi Police said Brij Bhushan and Vinod Tomar have been charge-sheeted for trial “without” arrest. So far, they have not found anything incriminating against the WFI chief. As per Delhi Police, the WFI staff (office assistant, office staff and office boy) no evidence was provided by the wrestlers regarding the “threat calls” despite multiple requests.
“Both accused have been chargesheeted for trial without arrest’ as they have complied with the directions u/s 41A CrPC by joining the investigation.” (41A notice directed him to comply with directions including not to tamper with evidence, appear before court when required, not to threaten any person involved, disclose all facts truthfully, not destroy evidence, produce all relevant material, etc),” the chargesheet read.
