Priyanka Chaturvedi: Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi voiced her displeasure with the new developments in the ‘obscene videos’ matter involving JD(S) MP Prajwal Revanna and called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take action. ANI uploaded a video on Twitter in which Chaturvedi questioned whether Prime Minister Modi, who was in Karnataka at the time, will address the issue.
Chaturvedi’s Call for Accountability
Chaturvedi stressed the significance of tackling such significant issues, particularly by people in positions of power. She chastised the National Commission for Women (NCW) chairperson for remaining silent on the matter, highlighting the importance of fair justice for all. She also denounced the Women and Child wellbeing Minister’s selective silence, calling them to put women’s wellbeing ahead of political ties.
Demand for Accountability
Chaturvedi expressed her disappointment and asked for accountability, noting that those who assisted the accused in fleeing to France should face consequences. She underlined the need of bringing the culprit to court so that the exploited women might obtain the justice they deserve.
She said in video, “It’s a shame that we have a Women and Child Welfare minister who has only chosen selective silences to attack those who are in the opposition rather than speak up truly for the cause of women. It is shameful. I would want everybody who helped the person escape to France should be punished and he should be brought back from France…I’m hoping that justice will be done to the women who were exploited.”
