Bathinda Military Base: At the Bathinda military base, an Indian Army jawan reportedly shot himself to death. Laghu Raj Shankar, the deceased, shot himself with his gun while he was on duty. He was killed by the bullet wound. It appeared to be a suicide case, according to the Army.
The soldier was using his service weapon while doing sentry duty
This is the same military facility where a shooting incident on Wednesday resulted in the deaths of four jawans. According to an Army statement, the two occurrences were unrelated. It happened early on Thursday morning when the jawan committed suicide. The Army stated in a press release that the soldier was using his service weapon while doing sentry duty. Next to the soldier, a gun and a cartridge case from the same gun were discovered. The right temporal area was close to the bullet wound. He was taken to the Military Hospital right away but died from his wounds there. On April 11, 2023, the soldier had returned from vacation.

The army released a statement
The incident occurred the day after Punjab Police filed a FIR against two unnamed males in relation to the shooting incident at the Bhatinda military post on Wednesday. The army released a statement saying, “Death of another soldier at Bathinda military station on Wednesday afternoon has no connection to the earlier firing event.
