Shopian encounter: IGP Vijay Kumar says parents should make continues appeal to recall their children

IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar has said that parents of newly recruited terrorists should make continuous appeal to recall their children.

The IGP said that such parents should not limit themselves to the last appeal when their children are caught in the encounter.

Kashmir’s Inspector General of Police Vijay Kumar said, the terrorists responsible for killing the army jawan were killed within two days in the Bijbehra encounter.

Kumar said that one of the slain terrorists had recently joined the terrorist organization and the security forces had also asked him to surrender.

He said, the parents also appealed but the other terrorists did not let him surrender.

A police officer said, two militants were killed in an encounter at Semthan in Bijbehara area of ​​Anantnag district in south Kashmir.

He said that after receiving information about the presence of militants in the area, the security forces launched a siege and search operation after which the encounter started on Saturday .
