Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena on Thursday approved the proposal of Delhi Police to appoint special public prosecutors to represent the state in the trial court in the Shraddha Walker murder case. In this case, now advocates Madhukar Pandey and Amit Prasad will represent the Delhi Police as special public prosecutors.
On the other hand, Delhi Police has got a big success in this case. The pieces of the body found by the police in the form of bones from the forests of Mehrauli belonged to Shraddha Walker only. These dead body pieces have been matched with Shraddha’s father’s DNA. This has been confirmed in the CFSL report. Not only this, father’s sample was also taken for DNA test. Now they have been matched with Shraddha’s father’s DNA.
In the DNA report, the traces of blood found from the bathroom and kitchen inside Aftab’s flat also matched with Shraddha. It is a very difficult case for the police, so the police is proceeding very carefully. If needed, after taking permission from the court, Delhi Police can interrogate Aftab again.
Two reports have been received from CFSL, while 3 reports are yet to come. Some of Shraddha’s clothes which she wore last time have been recovered, these clothes have been found in the forests, which have been sent for forensic examination.
And the accused Aftab is currently in judicial custody for 14 days. On December 9, the Saket court had further extended the custody of the accused. He appeared in the court through virtual conferencing. Earlier, Aftab was in judicial custody in Tihar Jail for 13 days, from where he was taken for polygraph and narco test.
35 things related to the murder have been recovered
In the Shraddha murder case, the Delhi Police claims that preparations have been completed to nab the accused Aftab. Police say that now 30 to 35 seizures have been made on the trail of the accused. These also include electronic gadgets. Along with this, there is strong evidence of Aftab’s coming and going out of Delhi.
Delhi Police says that it is also probing from this angle that Shraddha’s head was chopped into pieces with the two hammers that Aftab had bought and later the body was cut into pieces with a small saw. Till now Shraddha’s head has not been recovered.
Shraddha was killed on May 18
In police interrogation, Aftab had told that it was he who killed Shraddha. Aftab was Shraddha’s lover. Both were residents of Mumbai and had shifted to Delhi a few days back. In Delhi, both were living in a live-in relationship by taking a flat in Mehrauli. Aftab had told that he had a fight with Shraddha on 18 May. After this, he strangulated Shraddha to death. Aftab then cut Shraddha’s body into 35 pieces. Aftab had kept these pieces in a fridge. He used to go every night to throw a piece of Shraddha’s dead body in Mehrauli forest.
