Prajwal Revanna Case: Naveen Gowda and Chetan have been detained by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) looking into the infamous Prajwal Revanna pornographic film case in Karnataka for allegedly trafficking pen drives containing pornographic videos. At the Hassan CEN station, JDS employee Poornachandra had lodged a complaint against Naveen Gowda and others, claiming that photos and video of MP Prajwal Revanna had been altered and disseminated via pen drives and CDs.
High Court Appearance Leads to Immediate Custody
Police sources claim that when the two accused appeared before the High Court, they were taken into custody. Then they were picked up by SIT officers and brought in for interrogation. Pen drives purportedly included films of Prajwal Revanna, the grandson of former prime minister HD Deve Gowda, reportedly abusing women sexually, which they had circulated.
Remarkably, the state government established a Special Investigation Team (SIT) on April 28 to look into the situation following the Karnataka State Women’s Commission’s engagement in the matter. The NDA’s candidate for the Haasan Lok Sabha seat is 33-year-old Prajwal. A day after the election, on April 27, he allegedly left the nation and neglected to show up for the summons to appear before the SIT.
Court Issues Arrest Warrant for ‘Absconding’ MP Prajwal Revanna
A court has issued an arrest warrant for the “absconding” MP, and Interpol has issued a Blue Corner warning in the sexual assault case. Prajwal stated in a video that went viral on Monday that he will appear before the SIT on May 31. In response, BY Vijayendra, the state president of the BJP, expressed his gratitude for Prajwal’s choice to come back to India and assist with the probe.
He said, “Without discussing much about right or wrong, I just want to say… you are a public representative, you should face it (investigation) boldly. Many doubts have come up in the last one and a half years. Prajwal has to put an end to this and join the investigation. He has also agreed to appear before the Special Investigation Team. I welcome this.”
