The month of February is known for its frequent western disturbances. Recently, one such disturbance impacted the hills of northern India, causing substantial rainfall and snowfall.
Yesterday, another western disturbance made its way to the western Himalayas, resulting in further rain and snow in the northern hill region. After a brief lull, another spell of rain and snow is expected to hit the hills as a fresh system approaches on February 5th and continues until February 6th. These western disturbances are a common occurrence during this time of the year and often result in wet weather conditions in the affected areas.
Upcoming western disturbance to impact these states
The western disturbances that are forecasted to hit the northern hills in the coming days are expected to be of a mild nature, with minimal impact on the surrounding plains. These disturbances will primarily affect the hill regions of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Ladakh, bringing some form of weather activity to these areas. In summary, a series of mild western disturbances are expected to impact the northern hills, bringing some changes to the weather conditions in these regions.
