Snowfall Update: Severe rain and snow fell across the three states of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and the Ladakh area as a result of two consecutive western storms that hit the highlands of north India last week.
Where will snowfall happen now?
The second system in particular produced good snowfall across the upper and mid-regions of the Western Himalayas, where Srinagar, Gulmarg, and Pahalgam as well as the higher reaches of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand did see some rain and snow.
Although there has been a pause since then, the situation in the hilly states is about to shift drastically. The hills of North India will be significantly impacted by a new western disturbance that is predicted to approach the western Himalayas by tonight.
All hilly states will have rain, while higher and middle elevations of the hills may experience snowfall. Beginning tomorrow night and continuing through January 20 is this weather activity is predicted. After this system, a new western disturbance will quickly approach the western Himalayas, and it is anticipated that the snow display will continue.
Himachal to receive snowfall next week
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday forecasted a dip in temperatures, combined with significant snowfall and rain, over the following week in the mountainous state of Himachal Pradesh, where the cold wave condition is still present. The IMD has predicted snowfall and rain for the state throughout the coming week. According to authorities, the area is anticipated to receive a lot of snow. Nearly 115 routes in the state remain blocked as a result of the recent snowfall.
