Parliament Winter Session: According to the news agency ANI, on Wednesday, former Congress president Sonia Gandhi and other opposition leaders demonstrated in front of the Gandhi statue within the Parliament buildings. The opposition leaders are calling for a discussion on the conflict between India and China in Tawang.

Mallikarjun Kharge asks opposition figures to join the demonstration
According to reports cited by PTI, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has asked like-minded opposition figures to join the demonstration in front of the Gandhi statue at 10:15 am. According to PTI, the protest is anticipated to draw 12 or so parties.
Since the Winter Session began on December 7, opposition parties have demanded a discussion of the border tensions between India and China and the most recent Chinese violations.

About tension in Tawang region
An incident involving Indian and Chinese forces occurred on December 9 in the Tawang Sector of Arunachal Pradesh along the Line of Actual Control (LAC). According to reports, 200 Chinese soldiers who were equipped with spiked clubs and sticks took part in the assault.
According to what is known, both sides of the conflict sustained injuries. According to sources, the number of injured Chinese soldiers would rise, according to news agency PTI.
More than 300 Chinese soldiers were reportedly blocked from reaching the summit of the 17,000-foot mountain by jawans from the Indian Army. The area is presently covered in snow. The Indian side was able to halt Chinese troops from destroying an Indian station.
In June 2020, Indian and Chinese soldiers fought in hand-to-hand combat in the Galwan Valley in Ladakh, which is close to the Chinese-controlled Tibetan plateau. Relations between India and China dramatically deteriorated following the intense fighting in the Galwan Valley in June 2020, which was the biggest military battle between the two nations in decades.
