Sonia Gandhi: Former Congress President and party MP Sonia Gandhi made a statement on Friday indicating that her political career could conclude with the Bharat Jodo Yatra. Speaking on the second day of the session, she expressed her personal satisfaction with the party’s victories in 2004 and 2009, and gave credit to Dr. Manmohan Singh’s able leadership. Gandhi considers the Bharat Jodo Yatra a turning point for the Congress and is happy that her innings could end with it.

Gandhi praised the government led by former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, stating that the party worked hard to strengthen democracy in the country. She also lauded the successful journey of the grand-old party under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi. According to her, the strength of the party lies in its strong workers. “Congress is not just a political party, but there is democracy here,” she said.

She stated that this is a challenging time for Congress and the country as a whole. The BJP-RSS has favoured a few businessmen, leading to economic ruin.
