A Delhi court today adjourned the order related to the framing of charges against Congress MP Shashi Tharoor in the Sunanda Pushkar death case.
This is the second time that Special Judge Geetanjali Goel has adjourned the issue’s decision. It was previously scheduled for June 16 after the court reserved its decision on April 12. It was adjourned for today on June 16, and no new date has been set yet, although it is expected to be announced soon.
Sunanda Pushkar death case:
On the night of January 17, 2014, Sunanda Pushkar, the wife of Shashi Tharoor, was discovered dead in a suite at a luxury hotel in New Delhi. Pushkar was initially thought to have committed suicide, but later studies revealed that her death was caused by an unnatural cause.
Pushkar died of a drug overdose, according to the autopsy report, “most likely a combination of sedatives, other strong drugs, and perhaps alcohol” at the time of her death. “Congress leader Shashi Tharoor, her husband, was later charged under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) including abetment to suicide and cruelty.

Shashi Tharoor, is the main accused in the matter according to the Delhi Police.
Tharoor, who is currently on bail in the case, was chargesheeted by Delhi Police under Sections 498-A (husband or relative of husband of a woman subjecting her to cruelty) and 306 (abetment of suicide) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
