The Supreme Court has asked the central government to find a solution to the problem of roads being closed for movement due to protests by agitating farmers against three agricultural laws.

The court gave this direction during the hearing on the petition of a resident of Noida. In his petition, the petitioner had sought to ensure that the road from Noida to Delhi remains vacant.
Earlier, during the hearing of a petition seeking removal of the barrier put up on the road between Noida-Delhi due to the farmers’ agitation, the Supreme Court expressed its displeasure. The court said that the road should not be blocked under any circumstances.

A bench of Justices SK Kaul and Hemant Gupta said that we are not concerned about how you deal with the protests, but public roads should not be blocked.
Earlier, the Supreme Court had given strict instructions regarding the road jam in Shaheen Bagh. The Supreme Court had called the road blockade in Shaheen Bagh in the name of anti-CAA protests wrong. The court has said that the administration should have taken action in this matter, which it did not do. The court has also expressed hope that such a situation will not arise in future.
