At least three Lashkar-e-Taiba The Resistance Front terrorists were killed during an encounter in Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian district on Tuesday. The Shopian encounter started on Monday in Tulran in Imamsaheb area. One of the slain terrorists is Mukhtar Shah who was involved in the killing of Bihar hawker Virendra Paswan in Srinagar. On Monday evening, the security forces had received inputs that terrorists were hiding in Tulran, Shopian. After this, the army, CRPF and police started the operation by laying siege. Repeated appeals were made to the terrorists to surrender.
However, the terrorists ignored the security forces and started firing on them. All three terrorists were killed in the encounter. Ammunition and weapons have been found from the slain terrorists. At present, a search operation is going on in the area.
