In view of the increasing outbreak of Corona infection, the Tamil Nadu government has announced a complete lockdown for two weeks from May 10. There will be a complete lockdown in Tamil Nadu from 10 to 24 May. Grocery, ration, meat shops are allowed to open till 12 noon. People coming from other states will have to do e-registration first. There will be a restriction on travel to tourist destinations.
Cases of corona infection in Tamil Nadu are increasing very fast. After the highest number of 26,465 new cases of corona virus infection reported in a single day on Friday, the total number of infected people increased to 13 lakh 23 thousand 965.
With the death of 197 patients in the last 24 hours, the number of dead has reached 15,171. On the previous day, 22,381 people were discharged. The number of active patients in the state is now 1 lakh 35 thousand 355. After the arrival of 6,738 new cases of infection in Chennai, the total number of infected people has increased to 3 lakh 77 thousand 42. So far, 5081 patients have died in the city.
Chief Minister MK Stalin said in a statement that the lockdown was being imposed for ‘unavoidable reasons’ and the decision was taken on the basis of information received from medical experts and review meeting with the district magistrates on Friday.
“Full lockdown will be in force from 4 am on May 10 to 4 am on May 24,” he said.It is being told that during this time, permission has been given to open grocery, ration and meat shops by 12 noon, while people coming from other states will have to do e-registration first, apart from this there will be a ban on traveling to tourist places
