Tauktae Cyclone: Vaccination campaign in Mumbai shut, Bandra–Worli Sea Link closed till May 16

In the wake of warning of cyclonic storm ‘Tauktae Alert’ in Maharashtra capital Mumbai, BMC officials have decided to postpone the Covid-19 vaccination campaign for the next two days. The Brihanmumbai Mahanagar Palika (BMC) gave this information by tweeting on Friday, according to which the vaccination campaign in Mumbai will be postponed to 15 and 16 May.

Mumbai’s Additional Metropolitan Municipality Commissioner Suresh Kakani said that it has been decided to stop the vaccination campaign as a precaution in view of the cyclonic storm ‘Taukate’.

There are a total of 260 vaccination centers in Mumbai. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning saying that ‘cyclone’ cyclonic storm can pass through Mumbai.

In the last 24 hours, 39,923 new cases were reported in Maharashtra and 695 people died during this period.

The number of corona infects in the state has risen to 53,09,215 and 79,552 people have lost their lives so far. There are 5,19,254 active patients in the state at present and 47,07,980 have been cured after treatment .
