After the positivies in the second T20I against England the Indian team has now been fined for 20 percent of their match fees for maintaining the slow over-rate while bowling.
Match referee Javagal Srinath has imposed a penalty after the captain Virat Kohli was one over short of the target of completing the 20 over quota.
“In accordance with Article 2.22 of the ICC Code of Conduct for players and player support personnel, which relates to minimum over-rate offenses, players are fined 20 percent of their match fees for every over their side fails to bowl in the allotted time,” said ICC in a statement.
“Kohli pleaded guilty to the offense and accepted the proposed sanction, so there was no need for a formal hearing,” added the statement.
India won the second T20I with seven wickets after losing the first T20 International by eight wickets. More than three matches are left in the series and team India will look to march on the English side in the next match.
