He was spotted shaking hands at the airport with a sizable group of Indian expats who had assembled to greet him. Another group of foreigners were gathered outside his hotel, waiting. To pass the time, many were observed holding spontaneous dances.

A sizable crowd of Indian expats greeted the prime minister warmly at the airport and outside his hotel, exchanging handshakes and breaking out into spontaneous dances as they waited for him. PM Modi spoke with 24 eminent people, including Nobel laureates, economists, scientists, artists, researchers, businesspeople, academicians, and professionals in the medical field.

Elon Musk, the creator of Tesla, spoke with PM Modi and stated that he intended to invest in India and that he intended to travel there in 2019. Astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson, Grammy-winning Indian-American singer Falu (Falguni Shah), World Bank Senior Vice President Paul Romer, billionaire investor Ray Dalio, Nobel Prize winner Dr. Peter Agre, and Grammy-nominated artist Chandrika Tandon were among the other notable individuals PM Modi interacted with.
