Tirath Singh Rawat to be next CM of Uttarakhand

A day after the resignation of Trivendra Singh Rawat from his post of Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, the BJP has announced the new face for the Chief Minister’s position.

In a meeting of BJP top brass in Uttarakhand, Tirath Singh Rawat was named as the new candidate for the Chief Minister’s position.

After the announcement, Tirath Singh Rawat has thanked the party top brass for keeping faith in him and offering him the position.

“I thank PM, HM and party chief who trusted me, a mere party worker who comes from a small village,” said Tirath Singh Rawat.

“I’d never imagined that I’d reach here. We’ll make all efforts to meet people’s expectations and take forward work done in last 4 years,” the newly-appointed Uttarakhand CM added.

Tirath Singh Rawat was the BJP supremo in the state of Uttarakhand between February 2013 to December 2015 and now after so many years of his dedicated work for the party he will take the charge as the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand. The oath-taking ceremony will take place at 4 PM today.
