Piyush Panda’s Controversial Statement on Social Media
On the social media site X, Piyush Panda is heard purportedly saying in this video, which is quickly becoming popular. He said, “How can the son of a Teli open and offer prayers at the Ram Temple consecration? Narendra Modi has insulted the sentiments by inaugurating the incomplete Ram Temple. This is not my opinion but what the Shankaracharyas have said. Modi is very arrogant. He belongs to the Teli community and is inaugurating the temple, while Brahmins are not being invited.”
Suvendu Adhikari’s Call for Action Against Piyush Panda
Suvendu Adhikari, a BJP MLA and the opposition leader in the West Bengal Legislative Assembly, has asked the Election Commission to remember the contentious remarks TMC leader Panda made about Prime Minister Narendra Modi while disseminating this video. Suvendu Adhikari claimed that the TMC was demeaning to the OBC people. He continued, “I would like to urge Shri Hansraj Gangaram Ahir, the Chairman of the National Commission for Backward Classes, to please take cognizance of the attacks on the OBC community. The Election Commission should ban this leader from participating in the electoral process due to this severe violation of the Model Code of Conduct.”
