Traffic Rule Changed: The Transport Department is also trying to reduce air pollution at its level. Preparations are now being made to stop vehicles from running without Pollution Under Control (PUC).
New Delhi: Cars that don’t have a PUC will no longer be able to drive on Delhi’s roads. In Delhi, there will be more problems with people driving their cars without a valid pollution certificate. The government of Delhi’s transport department might start sending notices to people who own vehicles but don’t have valid PUC certificates.
If a driver doesn’t have a PUC certificate, he or she will have to pay Rs 10,000 in the form of a challan.
Environment Department has run campaigns
Let us tell you that the Kejriwal government is working hard to address the issue of air pollution in Delhi by taking a number of different measures. In addition to the “Red Light On, Car Off” campaign on the roads of Delhi, the Environment Department has run campaigns like the “Anti Dust Campaign” and “Anti Open Burning Campaign,” among others. In this kind of situation, the Transport Department has also been trying to cut down on air pollution at its level. Preparations are now being made to stop vehicles from running without Pollution Under Control (PUC).

Officials from the family department say that there are a lot of cars on the roads of Delhi that don’t have PUC. The air quality in the city is getting worse because of the pollution from these cars. Pollution Under Control (PUC) certificates for about 17,24,891 vehicles are said to have run out of time. The Transport Department is getting ready to get tougher on all of these vehicles.
Punishment and Penalty
The department has made it very clear that people who don’t have a PUCC will be punished.

Those who don’t have a PUCC will have to pay a fine of Rs 10,000 or go to jail for six months. Or, there is the possibility of receiving both a challan and a punishment. A driver’s license can also be taken away for up to three months.
